Justin Verlander tweets pic of standard night-before-game Taco Bell feast
First mentioned during an interview on Conan in January, Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander provided photographic evidence on Wednesday night that his earlier disclosure that the traditional night-before-game meal is Taco Bell, proving not only was it a tried-and-true practice for the Cy Young Award winner last season but that it continues to this day. Verlander takes the mound for the Tigers in the team’s season (and home) opener Thursday afternoon in a tilt against the Red Sox.
Verlander told Conan way back when that his standard Taco Bell meal consists of “three Crunchy Taco Supremes, no tomato; a Cheesy Gordita Crunch; and a Mexican Pizza, no tomato,” and by the looks of the glorious meal assembled on his coffee table, it appears he is sticking to his guns on exactly what delectable items he orders off the Taco Bell menu. Yummy.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I now feel the urge to make a run for the border myself. Question: when completing one’s order at Taco Bell, how much is too much to pay for a meal just for one person? Eight bucks? Because if it’s anything less than that, I might have a gluttonous Taco Bell gorging issue. Jeez Louise, I love that stuff.
