Attention: Bobby Petrino Will Not Indulge Silly Requests From Lady Reporters (Video)
Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino, along with the entire Razorbacks team, is down Texas way (Arlington, to be exact) to take on the Kansas State Wildcats in the Cotton Bowl at Cowboys Stadium on Friday.
What’s that? Oh, pardon me, the 2012 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. What an egregious oversight, not to properly incorporate the corporate sponsor, not to mention passing over the word “Classic.” Without that additional word, how would we ever know if the game was, you know, classic? And as far as I know, Cowboys Stadium is still called Cowboys Stadium, not Papa John’s Cowboys Stadium or Valtrex Field at Cowboys Stadium, so I think we’re good there.
Moving on, during a press conference, Alyson Courtney, a morning show host on Little Rock’s KATV, asked Coach Petrino if he would be willing to bust out a Texas accent in honor of the locale of the bowl game. More specifically, Courtney asked the coach to say (in his “best, hearty Texas twang,” in her words), “Yee-haw, I’m ready for the Cotton Bowl.”
Yeah, Petrino was unwilling to comply with her request. Bully for Courtney, but good for Petrino. I mean, he wasn’t even wearing his spurs and a ten-gallon hat, for Pete’s sake! How he gonna git into character and holler out some Texas twang without his gosh-durn cowboy duds? Tarnations!
