Jonathan Toews Takes Out Long-Range Goal Targets Like He’s A Sniper (Video)

But instead of a sniper rifle and bullets, Chicago Blackhawks star Jonathan Toews opts to employ the weapons of his trade: a hockey stick and pucks. Which makes sense when you think about it. How interesting would it be to watch Toews blast goal targets from across the ice with a gun? Okay, actually that would be pretty cool but it would have little to do with sports. Unless it was the Winter Olympics and he was training to compete in the biathlon. Huh.

You know what? Just enjoy the darn video. It’s cool and let’s leave the debate regarding the superiority of long-range firearms shooting versus long-range puck shooting for another day.

Also: this little slice of video is apparently a viral campaign touting the effectiveness of Toews’ new JT19 Bauer composite stick. I’m sorry, but unless you’re a world class hockey player, employing the new Bauer stick will not help you accomplish the same impressive display of shooting prowess demonstrated by Toews in the video. If said display is even real and not some silly fake viral marketing campaign akin to those which have featured Roger Federer and Evan Longoria in the past. Call me a cynic if you must, but I have learned that you can only trust about 95% of what you see on the internet.
