Matt Kemp Rewards Fans Waiting In Line For Autograph By Buying Them Pizza
Now that’s a classy move. Courtesy of Vin Scully Is My Homeboy comes the story about how a simple gesture by a professional athlete can easily make the days of a group of regular folks.
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp is scheduled for an autograph signing session at 11:00 a.m. local time Friday at a Los Angeles-area MetroPCS location. Apparently, Kemp saw on Twitter that fans were lining up outside the store as early as last night to get a good spot in line and ensure they would get his autograph, so he told his PR people to order everyone pizza and soft drinks to fill their bellies and spread some good cheer.
Well done, Matt Kemp. You have earned the Sportress of Blogitude Seal of Approval for this act. Expect the official letter of commendation in the mail never. Sorry, it’s just that it’s not a real thing, you see.
