The New York Times Issues Correction Due To Inaccurate Tolkien Reference
So awesome on so many levels, the fact being that they felt compelled to do so lest an angry horde of Orc-like, Tolkien-loving, neo-maxi-zoom-dweebies storm their newspaper offices being the most amusing one of all. It’s almost as bad as the time the New York Times incorrectly referred to Captain James Tiberius Kirk as the best captain of the U S S Enterprise in an article discussing Derek Jeter’s captaincy of the New York Yankees. Everybody knows it was Jean-Luc Picard. Outrageous.
In any event, through some intrepid YouTube research, I was able to locate a video which provides a sufficient personality and behavioral composite of the individual who insisted the Times make the correction:
