Extra! Extra! Read All About It! Mel Kiper’s First Big Board Is Up!
Like sands through the hourglass, the swallows of San Juan Capistrano or for me, tuning in to another episode of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, Mel Kiper’s initial release of his big board is an oddly comforting, albeit underwhelming, event. You can count on it to come around but the initial excitement gradually wears off once you realize it’s the same old, “been there, done that” kind of routine. In Kiper’s case, he will hype the players he wants to hype, he will invariably be way off on a majority of his draft forecasts and then, once this year’s draft is finished, the whole damn machine will fire up once again, fueled by obscene amounts of conjecture, rampant speculation and a vats upon vats of high-end hair care products.
Anyhoo, the entire point of this post is to alert you, my dear readers, that according to this article on ESPN.com – they refer to Kiper as “draft overlord” like he actually controls the actual draft and pulls all the strings (“Now dance, dance, my draftee minions!! Muhahahah!!”) – the first edition of “Mel’s Big Board” is up and that you should hop on over to ESPN and have yourself a look-see, much like I am about to right now.

Ah man, f**k the heck? Kiper’s entire draft board, save for the top 5 choices, are located behind the impenetrable walls of ESPN Insider? Kiper’s projections are a whole bunch of worthless malarkey anyway, why should I have to subscribe to ESPN The Magazine to see the worthless tripe?
