LeBron’s Birthday Cake Was Surprisingly Modest And Understated
Yeah, if today was Opposite Day, which, according to my calendar, does not fall until the third Tuesday in March. Look at that thing. Who knew ostentatious was a cake ingredient?
In case you missed it, LeBron’s 26th birthday was December 30th and James held a glamorous, star-studded celebration in Miami last Thursday night for all the beautiful people (look at some of the guest list: Drake, Gabrielle Union and her beau, James’s Miami Heat teammate Dwyane Wade, Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick, Kelly Rowland, Vivica Fox, Timbaland, Ne-Yo, Spike Lee, Tyrese and Trey Songz – that’s big time, folks – we’re talking Vivica Fox here!). The above cake befitting a king (or someone who goes by the “King” moniker) served as the centerpiece to the party and LeBron apparently even dropped some beats in the DJ booth! No word on whether or not Jim Gray was in attendance.
LeBron being LeBron, the event honoring the glorious day he was brought into this world was likely an over-the-top, garish affair. Personally, I choose to celebrate my birthday in a much more modest, understated manner. All I need is my Dairy Queen ice cream cake and some close friends at my side, preferably friends not named Ne-Yo and hopefully, no Kardashians. Vivica Fox, on the other hand, would always be welcome. Vivica Fox, people!
In any event, I am sure a grand time was had by one and all. And for those of you who did not hold your own satellite party in your basement with your stuffed animals, shame on you.
