Charlie Whitehurst Hyperbolic Headline Fail

Um, yeah.

Now, I’ll give Charlie Whitehurst credit for his relief appearance at QB in the 7-9 Seattle Seahawks’ 16-6 postseason-clinching victory over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday night, but “timely perfection”? Seriously?

First of all, a 22-36, 192 yards and a touchdown does not make for a perfect outing. In fact, those numbers qualify for an 84.5 quarterback rating, which to me should barely even be considered adequate. Second, it was against the pitiful Rams, who, like the Seahawks, had no business even being within spitting distance of a postseason berth. And the “gunslinger” reference in the column? Puh-leeze.

So, to Steve Kelley, Charlie Whitehurst and the rest of the Seahawks: as The Wolf once eloquently put it in Pulp Fiction: let’s not start sucking each other’s dicks quite yet.
