Hey Yo, Sly Stallone Was Elected Into Boxing Hall Of Fame
Among the legends of boxing named Tuesday as members of 2011 class of the International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum, including Mike Tyson and Julio Cesar Chavez, is one Sylvester Stallone, whose portrayal of the underdog Rocky Balboa – as well as an Oscar-nominated screenwriter of the original Rocky film – evidently qualified for induction. While Stallone hasn’t spoken publicly regarding this honor, I am willing to bet he certainly does not feel like a Kentucky Fried Idiot.
By far the worst outcome which could come out of Sly’s induction is that he will once again believe it is a great idea to revive the Rocky franchise, and one could argue that the series ran its course after Rocky II, although I have to admit Rocky III and IV were alright. After that? Not so much. So who knows? Maybe yet another Rocky sequel wouldn’t be half bad. I guess what I’m trying to say is, if I can change, and you can change, everybody can change. Even Sylvester Stallone and his condition as box office poison.
