Screw Football, At Least Michigan Beat Ohio State In Their Annual Blood Battle!

Sure, Michigan has absolutely stunk it up against Ohio State on the football field in recent history, losing seven consecutive games dating back to 2004, but the Wolverines have whipped those Buckeye bastards where it counts the most: in their annual head-to-head Blood Battle!

From the Detroit Free Press:

Michigan’s results at the blood bank were better than on the football field. U-M won the 29th annual blood battle against Ohio State this month, collecting 2,615 pints to OSU’s 2,515. U-M leads the all-time series, 17-11-1.

Quite the close finish, to be sure, but for a change, Michigan came out on top. So cheer up, Wolverines backers and sing your fight song, “The Victors,” with pride. But don’t get overly excited, and to anyone who sacrificed their blood, sweat and tears – okay, just their blood – in order to defeat the hated Buckeyes…you guys and gals might want to eat a cookie or something. And if for some reason, Michigan backers are in dire need of fresh blood, just be patient: Rich Rodriguez should be fired soon enough. Yay.
