Good Riddance: Mauresmo Ousted In Second Round Of U.S. Open
Amelie Mauresmo, the 17th seed in the U.S. Open, was soundly beaten by Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak earlier today. Mauresmo is the second former Grand Slam tournament champion to make an early exit this week, joining Ana Ivanovic, who lost yesterday to Kateryna Bondarenko.
But why the good riddance, you ask? Take a good look at her – the woman is part animal or something. Maybe a werewolf, possibly a Sasquatch.
Hey, and don’t even think about getting on my case about how our society is too concerned with outward appearances. I’m just following everybody else’s lead. In fact, I should be credited as a trailblazer for pointing out this injustice, not criticized for it. As soon as everyone catches up with me and my progressive views, the sooner things will change. But for now, it is what it is. Consider this post merely a commentary on contemporary mores.
A slice of life?
In any event, congratulations to Wozniak, who is making only her third appearance at the U.S. Open, moves on to face number 10 seed Flavia Pennetta, who skunked Sania Mirza 6-0, 6-0.
Wait. Sania Mirza is out of the tournament? Nooooooooooo!!!
