Boo This Man! Michael Beasley Going To Rehab For (Probably) Pot Photos
I can think of one fictional person who isn’t pleased with the following news:
No doubt as a result of posting a photo on Twitter with what appeared to be some sacks of weed in the background, Miami Heat forward Michael Beasley has checked himself into an unnamed rehab facility in Houston. From Yahoo! (via The Sporting Blog):
Sources said the Heat encouraged Beasley to check into the facility to address possible substance and psychological issues. He is expected to spend time with former NBA player and coach John Lucas, who is renown for his success in working with troubled players.
When reached Monday morning, Miami Heat spokesman Tim Donovan declined comment. An NBA spokesman also declined comment.
Sidestepping the issue as to whether or not recreational use of marijuana warrants checking a person into a treatment facility (as the gentleman in the photo once said, “Marijuana is not a drug. I used to suck dick for coke. Now that’s an addiction. You ever suck some dick for marijuana?”), I find it surprising how quickly the Heat/Beasley’s handlers moved on this, given that due to the quality and clarity of the photo, it is difficult to discern whether or not it is in fact marijuana in the baggies. Because of the hasty nature of the decision, it leads me to believe that Mr. Beasley, in one way or another, is in a bad way right now. His tweets (before his Twitter account was taken offline) seemed to indicate this as well:
“Y do I feel like the whole world is against me…I can’t win for losin,” Beasley wrote.
“Feelin like it’s not worth livin!!!!!!! I’m done.”
Not good, man. Nevertheless, Beasley obviously has neglected to remember this little detail:
What? If it wasn’t for the knowledge I have gleaned from reading witty messages printed on t-shirts, I never would have known that you are supposed to wine ’em and dine ’em before you 69 ’em. The message is subtle, but it can make all the difference in the world.
