Magglio’s Just A Boy With A New Haircut And That’s A Pretty Nice Haircut

Magglio Ordóñez is willing to try anything to bust out of his season-long slump, including cutting the mangy locks of hair that he has been growing out for five years.

“I feel light,” Ordonez said in the Tigers clubhouse before the game against the Cubs.

Ordonez has been struggling with his power this year (2 home runs, 22 RBIs), and said he needed to try “something new.”

“When they cut it, at first it looked like a mullet,” he said with a laugh.

I wonder if Magglio realizes that a mullet would have still looked far better than whatever the hell he was trying to accomplish with that bird’s nest-clown wig mess he had going.

Benched indefinitely June 21st by Detroit manager Jim Leyland, Ordóñez is batting .275 on the season, with only 2 home runs, 22 RBI and a slugging percentage of .342.

Apparently, Ordóñez will be auctioning off the hair on eBay to benefit the Imerman Angels, a cancer support group. Ooh, hair clippings! A pile of those will look great right next to my Jim Leyland Air Freshener made out of discarded cigarette butts!

Ahh, just for the hell of it and the fact that I referenced it in the title, here’s a little Pavement for you.

Yeah, the haircut was a good call.
