Talk About A Kick In The Raisins: Barry Bonds’ Wife Files For Legal Separation
Liz Watson has filed for legal separation from her still-waiting-to-sign-with-a-major-league-team-because-he-still-has-a-lot-to-offer-if-someone-would-just-give-him-a-chance husband Barry Bonds, citing irreconciable differences.
Liz is seeking spousal support and requesting joint legal and physical custody of their 10-year-old daughter, Aisha Lynn.
The 44-year-old former San Francisco Giants’ slugger, who hit his history making 755th home run in 2007, married 39-year-old Liz in 1998. This is his second marriage.
Hmmm, I wonder what those irreconcilable differences could be – *cough* – shrunken balls bitch tits backne – *cough* – perhaps all of Bonds’ legal troubles and his pending trial for lying to a grand jury in 2003 put a strain on their marriage. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Or maybe, Bonds’ alleged nine-year affair with Kimberly Bell may have something to do with as well.
It could also be that Watson recognizes her husband’s earning capacity has seriously diminished and there doesn’t appear to be any chance of it recovering from all of the scandals.
Bonds has been down this road before – his marriage to his first wife, Susan Margaret Branco resulted in a bitter and highly contested divorce.
At that time, after a 6-year-long trial, the California court had ruled in Bonds’ favor over a prenuptial agreement that denied Branco a share of her ex’s fortune. Branco, however, contended she did not understand the contract the pair signed a day before their 1988 wedding. He has two children with Branco.
Well, you know the old saying, “lucky in life, unlucky in love.”
Wait. That really doesn’t apply here – not one bit. How about “a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush”? Yeah, somehow that makes more sense. I’m not sure how, just roll with it.
Either way, no matter how this works out, methinks Liz Watson is not a huge fan of Tammy Wynette’s signature song.
Oooohh, Liz Watson, you just got served, baby!
