Give Me Your Banned, Your De-Starred, Your Huddled Masses Yearning To Comment Free…
Just to get it out of the way, here are my very brief and not-very-well-thought-out opinions on Deadspin, commenting and all of that other assorted bullshit.
First of all, while I do not agree with Deadspin’s new policy regarding the banning of commenters for certain transgressions despite anyone’s knowledge as to what the criteria may or may not be, I do concede that they have the implicit right to handle their comments section any way they see fit. Vaya con Dios, I say. That is to say I am not here to condemn or badmouth Deadspin. To me, that would just be an exercise in futility. It is what it is. Unfortunately, with all things, change is inevitable.
Nevertheless, while no one probably cares, I do intend to comment the same way I always have commented, and if that results in my commenting rights being taken away, so be it.
It’s not the end of the world and, of course, life goes on.
And to all of you who have been banned, you always will have a place in the comments section here on Sportress of Blogitude. S.O.B. ain’t as fancy or as well-written (or well-written at all, for that matter), but I’d like to think we could all have a good time here, just like we used to in the good old days – and I can assure you that no one will be banned on S.O.B. for a questionable comment – as long as you are trying to be funny and are not going out of your way to be completely inappropriate, you should fit in well here.
All I know is that I’ll do my very best to entertain each and every one of you. And if Sportress of Blogitude ain’t your cup of tea, there’s always The Rookies and Style Points, as well as all of the other mostly Deadspinoff blogs located on my Weedroll.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, do not hesitate to shoot me an e-mail. That’s about it. Have fun and be good to each other out there.
