Poll Revals Most Minnesotans Don’t Want Brett Favre – Also, That They Are Idiots
According to a poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports, a paltry 29% of Minnesotans want Brett Favre to join the Vikings. Insofar as the idiot comment, the needle on the stupidity meter was spinning out of control due to the following finding:
The pollsters also found that 44 percent say they would be less likely to support public financing of a new Vikings stadium if the team signs the former Packers quarterback. A mere 7 percent say it would make them more likely to back tax dollars being spent on a new Vikings home, and 49 percent say Favre signing or not signing would have no impact on their decision.
Man, does that make a whole lot of sense. Essentially, 44% of the people polled would essentially write-off the Vikings if they signed Favre, because without some sort of financial backing from the public for a new stadium, the Vikings could be as good as gone once their lease expires at the Metrodome in 2011.
I can see the little hamster wheels spinning in their brains: “Brett Favre on the Vikings, you say? Pack it up, Purple, you’re dead to me now.”
In other Favre news, apparently the Vikings are giving the Gunslinger an ultimatum, saying that Favre only has the rest of the week to decide if he is planning to unretire. Yeah, like that’s going to happen. That’s not even close to enough time to build up the requisite drama Favre craves. Plus, this bit of information came from Peter King, and we all know how difficult it is to type a report and check your sources when you are slurping on a grizzled veteran’s balls.
Well, actually I don’t, but you do. You should be ashamed of yourself – you’re not in college anymore.
