• NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. Vancouver silenced the capacity crowd at the United Center in Chicago after taking 3-0 lead and held on to beat the Blackhawks 3-1 to go up in the series 2 games to 1 as they regained home ice advantage. Anaheim, riding high after their triple overtime victory on Sunday over Detroit, kept it going and edged the Red Wings 2-1 in front of the home crowd. Anaheim now leads the series 2-1. • NBA Playoffs. It was close through 3 quarters but the Nuggets hung on down the stretch and beat the Mavericks 117-105 to take a 2-0 lead in the series; no layoff hangover for the Cavaliers as Cleveland beats on the Atlanta Hawks 99-72. Some guy named LeBron played pretty well, too. [NBA.com Scoreboard]
• MLB Scorebotoard. The Red Sox beat the Yankees 7-3 to complete a 2-game sweep in New York. Boston is now 5-0 this season against the Yankees. Detroit whupped Minnesota 9-0 and a complete clusterfuck of a game between the Washington and Houston was mercifully called due to rain in the 10th inning with the score tied 10-10. The game will be resumed on July 9th in Houston as the Astros are not scheduled to return to D.C. [MLB.com Scoreboard]
• When he was arrested, he told police what he was doing wasn’t any of their concern and kept asking to speak to Barry Saggitarius. A 24-year old man from Pennsylvania was arrested after he burglarized three apartments and vandalized them with spray paint and chocolate pudding. When he was apprehended by police, he was covered in chocolate syrup. Ahhhh yeahhhhh. [Yahoo!/AP]
