Jayson Williams Was On A Whole Bunch Of Drugs When Cops Tasered Him
You have to feel bad for Jayson Williams right now. The former Nets star, who is currently going through a bitter divorce and faces a retrial on manslaughter charges regarding the shooting and death of his chauffeur in 2004, was in possession of a several different drugs when he was tasered after a violent confrontation with police in a Manhattan hotel earlier this week.
Among the drugs in Williams’ possession were:
…two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…
Okay, not really – although he did have a virtual pharmacy on hand, including:
…bottles for Celexa, an anti-depressant, and lithium, used for manic-depression – along with the sleeping pill Ambien, human growth hormone and two other drugs.
The mixture of drugs could have certainly contributed to his violent and suicidal behavior at the hotel and more than likely didn’t jibe with his bipolar disorder, which Williams was diagnosed with in 2004.
Williams is now resting comfortably at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan, where he is being treated with “the mood stabilizer Depakote, which is used to get bipolar patients out of the manic phase of their illness, another source said.”
Let’s hope for the best for Jayson Williams. That guy is probably in a whole world of hurt right now – or he’s totally spaced-out bonkers on meds. Remember people, the only acceptable time for over medication is under the strict supervision of qualified medical personnel.
