NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Game Seven Spectacular. The Carolina Hurricanes scored two goals in the final 80 seconds, one by Jussi Jokinen and one by Eric Staal, and shocked the New Jersey Devils 4-3 to move on to face the Boston Bruins in the second round; the ageless Sergei Fedorov keyed the victory for the Capitals, scoring with 4:59 left in the third period, as Washington will reach the second round in more than a decade after defeating the Rangers 2-1. NBA Playoffs Recap. Paul Pierce led the way in overtime as the Celtics beat the Bulls 106-104 to take a 3 games to 2 series lead; Dwight Howard was a beast, scoring 24 points and pulling down 24 rebounds in the Magic’s 91-78 win against the 76ers which gives Orlando a 3-2 lead in the series; Dallas won it’s first playoff series since 2006 and San Antonio lost in the first round for the first time since 2000 as the Mavericks beat the Spurs 106-93; Portland cut into Houston’s stranglehold on their series by beating the Rockets 88-77 – the Trailblazers now, um, trail Houston 3 games to 2. MLB. Cleveland stopped Boston’s winning streak at 11 as the Indians edged the Red Sox 9-8; the White Sox and Mariners split their doubleheader – Chicago winning the first one 2-1 and the Mariners pulling out the nightcap 9-1; the Yankees pounded Detroit 11-0 and Philadelphia destroyed Washington 7-1. I guess I’ll save money on sunscreen, but it won’t be the same, you know? Frustrated by a recent influx of German nudists infiltrating their scenic region and ruining it, the canton of Appenzell Inner Rhodes voted overwhelmingly to ban nude hiking. Similar moves are expected in neighboring regions. In all seriousness, this is a good thing. Have you ever seen a group of nudists? They are rarely the attractive people you would like to imagine them to be. No, more often than not, the women look like Kathy Bates and the men look like Bea Arthur.
