Pittsburgh Penguins Remove Interim Tag On Dan Bylsma
Dan Bylsma is officially the head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins, now that he and General Manager Ray Shero reportedly agreed to a multi-year contract last night.
Bylsma clearly earned the contract, leading the Penguins to a 18-3-4 record to finish up the regular season after replacing Michael Therrien in February and guiding the Penguins to a convincing 4 games to 2 first round series win over the Philadelphia Flyers.
After thinking about it, I’m not too sure removing the interim tag is such a good idea – at least if it’s anything like cutting that tag off your mattress that they tell you not to remove. My father cut the tag off my parent’s mattress one night, left to pick up some milk and never returned. My mom says he didn’t come back because he was a no-good drunk, but I know better. The Secret Mattress Police do not mess around, they move quickly and their actions are lethal.
Oh crap, I’ve said too much. You’ve been warned.
