Tony Gonzalez Traded To The Falcons? Commenters On The Kansas City Star’s Website Are Quick To Turn On Him

tony-oprahGreat Googly Moogly. 10-time Pro Bowler Tony Gonzalez has been traded to the Atlanta Falcons for a 2010 second-round draft pick.

An interesting trade indeed, but what I find most entertaining is how quickly some members of a local fan base will quickly turn on a once-revered player mere minutes after he is traded. To be fair, most of the comments are positive and wish Tony nothing but the best, but others are most likely from people that are typing with one hand and burning their Gonzalez jerseys and posters with the other. Here’s a look-see at some of those:

YES! Bye-bye Tony the Whiner! But KC should have gotten more than a second-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft unless there is something about the Whiner we don’t know.

AMEN!!! Tony was worth a 2nd Rounder what does that tell you! Glad he is gone! The distractionator has left the building! Now let’s win it all! Show Tony how a TEAM wins it all! Go CHIEFS!

Who cares? As much as Tony did with the Chiefs he was still an “I” in the much needed team atmosphere of professional football. Zack Thomas who has never played a down for the Chiefs feels good and positive about what is going on in Kansas City. Tony who has been treated like a “King” for his entire career in KC by the fans and Hunt family decided that he was more important than the team a long time ago. It was very professional when he pouted because he didn’t break a record at home. Give me a break. I hope he looks good in a Falcons uniform when the put his bust in Canton. There is absolutely no loyalty in professional sports and Tony is just another example of the “it’s all about me” generation we are living in today. In the great words of Bobby Knight, “When my time on this earth is done, and my life has come to pass, I want to be buried face down, so Tony G can kiss my a**”. Have a good day!!!

It’s hard to believe a comment from someone going by the moniker “RustyKuntz” could ever be considered abusive. Live and learn.
