Senator Kennedy Throws Out First Pitch Before Red Sox Game
Prior to Josh Beckett’s dominating 10 strike out performance in the Boston’s 5-3 victory over Tampa Bay, a fellow member Massachusetts royalty had his moment on the mound when good ol’ Ted threw out the ceremonial first pitch yesterday at Fenway Park. The 77 year-old Democratic icon looked no worse for wear despite several health scares over the past year, including a diagnosis of malignant glioma ;last May. Certainly an inspirational moments for all Americans.
However, I do have one criticism and it involves his mechanics. If you watch the MSNBC video in The New York Times link, you can see he turns over on the pitch quicker than a 1967 Oldsmobile Delmont 88 does during a drunken joy ride in Chappaquiddick.
