Adrian Peterson Says It’s Time To Play Hockey So You Better Listen Up!

The Minnesota Wild have a little tradition before every game where they bring in a local celebrity to lead the Team of 18,000 (yeah, that’s what they call the fans) in chanting “Let’s Play Hockey!” It’s little hokey, yes, but you would think it wouldn’t be too hard to pull off.  Leave it to Vikings running back Adrian Peterson to flub the line.

Purple Jesus himself was in attendance last night at the Xcel Energy Center prior to the Wild’s 3-1 victory over the Dallas Stars to pump up the crowd. Let’s take a look at how he did.

Ouch. It’s time to play hockey? Awk-ward. This is why the Vikings keep Chester Taylor around – if Peterson can’t remember three words, how can the Vikings expect him to remember blitz assignments?

The worst part is you can tell by the look in his eyes that he has no idea what he’s supposed to say. Man, do I know what that’s all about. Do you know how hard it is to remember to say “not guilty”?
