Hoo boy.
I’m sure Serbian tennis player Viktor Troicki is profoundly disappointed that he lost a hard-fought first round match (6-3 3-6 2-6 7-5 6-3) to fellow countryman Novak Djokovic at the U.S. Open earlier today. And I am sure that he is extremely exhausted after playing in the sweltering, oppressive heat which baked both players and fans at Arthur Ashe Stadium this afternoon.
But all is not lost. After all, Troicki is ranked 45th in the world while Djokovic was ranked 3rd, so it was not like Troicki suffered a huge letdown or anything. And much, much, much more important than even that is the fact that Troicki gets to return to his air conditioned hotel room and seek solace in the fact that he is dating the piece of eye candy pictured above and below, stunning Serbian model Suncica Travica. Heck, she might even be at his hotel right now, consoling him after taking cell phone photos of herself, which apparently is one of Travica’s favorite pastimes. Not that I’m complaining of course. People should have hobbies, right?

I don’t know how it would be possible, but in case you have forgotten since she took the internets by storm last year, Maria Verchenova, the 24-year-old Russian golfer, is alive and well and still competing on the Ladies European Tour. She sat down for an LET weekly feature (via Golf Babes), “The Full Swing” where she gave some provocative answers to the hodgepodge of questions thrown at her while alternately providing some profoundly disappointing ones as well.
Let’s start off with the disappointing:
10. What is the quality you most like in a man?
Big wallet (joking!)
11. What is the quality you most like in a woman?
Women are not really my thing…
Aww, man. Well, it can’t all come up roses, right?
And now, a provocative answer (when taken completely out of context):
28. How would you like to die?
I would like to die in a blaze of glory.
29. What is your motto?
Go hard or go home.
Hummina hummina!
Chew on that response while you peruse the photo gallery I prepared for your viewing pleasure.
Unbeknownst to me, the 2010 Beach Volleyball European Championships were held in Berlin last week – I didn’t get the memo – so what better way to commemorate the event that I had no idea was going on or was even aware existed before a few minutes ago with a nice little photo gallery?
Who won? Like I know. And like you care. Enjoy the photos and quit wasting my precious time by asking inane, unimportant questions. Jeez. How about you simply consider this a lunchtime treat from your Friendly Neighborhood Blogger-Man and leave it at that?
Note: I especially enjoy the photo of Lonely Raker Guy. Living the dream, man. Livin’ it.Photos: Beach Volleyball European Championships 2010 [Vancouver Sun]
Nice.
As regular visitors to the Sportress would surely attest, yours truly is quite the big fan and admirer of Miss Michelle Wie. And as a big fan and admirer, I regularly check out her recipes, artwork and, in Miss Wie’s words, “the stuff that doesn’t quite fit in” on her personal blog, Black Flamingo. But mostly I go there to see if she has uploaded any new photos in which she reveals a different and sexier side of herself than what we usually do not see on the golf course.
And more often than not, I’m rewarded for my efforts, and you guys are fortunate enough to benefit from said effort. If you need confirmation of this, feel free to comb through the vast archives contained within the Sportress. It’s quite easy to do, really: just grab one of the memory crystals shaped like a leggy female golfer that are lying about the Sportress, plug it in to one of the associated holes (ahem) and voila! Pure, Unadulterated Michelle Wie Sexiness!
It’s a beautiful thing, really.
bye bye france till next year [Black Flamingo]
A sexy, sultry, eye-popping shame, that is.
A little birdie in the comments section of a post here at the Sportress informed me – and boy, am I thankful I heeded his advice – that I would be wise to take a look-see at the official website of Sophie Horn: a model, certified fitness trainer and 6-handicap golfer who has not quite yet taken the golf world by storm, but it should be only a matter of time before this toned, talented and ambitious young lady begins to draw quite a bit of attention.
Horn is also on the staff 0f UK golf magazine Golf Punk (which, shockingly, currently does not have an online presence), writing a column under the titillating moniker of “Golf Nurse” and was just recently featured in a story on Golf.com about the scene in St. Andrews during the 2010 Open Championship. Information regarding the up-and-comer Horn on the interwebs is surprisingly scarce, but she is becoming more active on social media sites, with both a Twitter and Facebook account. Keep an eye on those.
And now, for what you have been waiting for, a Sportress of Blogitude Official Sophie Horn Photo Gallery. Enjoy.

Courtesy of the fine folks at Mr. Irrelevant comes news that Alexander Ovechkin has a new piece of arm candy, svelte Russian model, Valeria Sokolova.
From a LifeSports.ru report via the fan site, Alex Ovetjkin (please note the amusing Russian-to-English translation):
Alexander Ovechkin seems to have fallen for, this time for real. The romance between a shaggy forward and model Valeria Sokolova develops in full swing, Sasha introduces his new passion to all his friends and does not let a long-legged blonde go one step away…
The girls with forms has always been around Ovechkin, like the domestic showbiz diva Maria Grigoryeva-Appolonova or Victoria Lopyreva. Now the power forward has changed his taste and can’t see enough of the delicate silhouette of this female model.
Girls with forms? That’s a new one. Of course, as mentioned above, the translation may have something to do with the odd phrasing, otherwise it causes me to think this terribly thin gal was once a spokesmodel at Mathematical Supplies Trade Show (“Hey, check out the chick holding the three-dimensional dodecahedron model…she’s hot!”)
Just because I know you are dying to see what caliber of Russian gal an Unfrozen Caveman Hockey Player with millions of rubles can land, a photo gallery of the leggy, waifish Sokolova follows:
Great news, pole vaulting fans! Also, great news, fans of sublime buttocks and internet oglers! Arguably the greatest female pole vaulter in the history of the sport – two-time Olympic Gold Medalist (2004 and 2008), Female Athlete of the Year by the IAAF in 2004, 2005 and 2008, and World Sportswoman of the Year by Laureus in 2007 and 2009 – Russian phenom Yelena Isinbayeva ended her indefinite leave from competition and begin her comeback and return to dominance.
Via ESPN/AP:
“A break was necessary for me. I was under too much pressure,” Isinbayeva said. “But now I feel refreshed and motivated. I will be back for the 2011 winter season.”
Another reason for her return? Boredom.
“Having competed all these years, I have missed on the normal life other young women live. Now that I’ve seen it, I can say that normal life is really boring,” she said.
You’re telling me, honey. When I took a two week break from blogging, I realized the “normal life,” as she puts it, was dreadful. Do you know how bright the sun is during the day? Blinding.
In any event, welcome back Yelena. And a special welcome back to your fantastic butt. I’m not sure, despite its magnificence, if it will motivate me to watch more pole vaulting, but I eagerly anticipate additional photos of the testament to fantastic athletic booty.

What? It’s true, isn’t it? Just because your mind happens to be usually in the gutter doesn’t make what I wrote a lie.
Perverts.

Sweet mercy. To be sure, there are certainly fates far worse than having the opportunity of sidling up between these two blond bombshells and sharing in their celebration after the closing ceremonies of the World Cup, but unfortunately, the moment has passed and it was not to be. Sigh.
Shakira kindly uploaded this photo to twitpic of the two beauties having a hug. Of course, both Shakira and Charlize Theron played large roles in the just completed 2010 FIFA World Cup. As a native South African, Theron represented her homeland well when she participated in the draw which placed the 32 teams in their respective groups back in December. Further, I am sure the talented and lovely actress was tremendously proud of the wonderful job her country did at holding the global event.
Shakira, on the other hand, was the World Cup’s official chanteuse. Her song, “Waka Waka” was chosen as the official anthem of the tournament and she performed the song at both the opening and closing ceremonies.
But ultimately, what’s most important is that that we take a moment to thank the gods for creating a confluence of events whereby such a heavenly pair had the chance to meet up and share a warm embrace. Homina homina homina. Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.

Now that’s a far better image to wrap up the blogging week compared to last Friday’s Diego Maradona G-string insanity, isn’t it?
Now that we got that disturbing image out of the way, let’s move on to more enjoyable pursuits, shall we? Like yours truly introducing you to a brand new young lady who is sure to capture your fancy.
As the proprietor of this here blog, nothing makes me happier when I can introduce my readers to something new and interesting that they may have not seen or heard about before. And as a Minnesotan, it brings me a dose of pride when said new and interesting item is a beautiful young lady who just so happens to hail from the Land of 10,000 Lakes, so much the better.
Ladies and germs, allow me to introduce you to a brand new entry on the Hottie Sideline Reporter Department: Natalie Kane.
Kane, who has been steadily making her presence known across the media landscape of the Twin Cities, is a delightful young lady: gorgeous, witty and great at what she does. A selection from her biography on her official site:
Natalie can be seen hosting, reporting, anchoring and emcee’ing on the CW Twin Cities, FOX Sports, the TV Guide Network, Big Ten Network, LTF Vision, KFAN Sports Radio , KDWB Hit Music, and in-arena with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Alrighty then, now that we got that out of the way, let’s move on to the good stuff. Photos!
