Pool table removed from Bills locker room being auctioned off for charity
First-year Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott attempted to demonstrate there’s a new sheriff in town last week by removing a pool table and some video games from the team’s locker room.

And now, one of the newly unnecessary and unneeded pieces of recreational equipment will be auctioned off to raise money for charity.
The item’s description, via the auction site:
Up for bids is an 8′ “bar sized” pool table directly from the locker room of the Bills. The table is currently in storage. The legs are detached (see pics). There is some wear and tear, especially to the felt and pockets. A few other small dings here and there but overall, an absolutely beautiful pool table. This is a MUST HAVE for any fanatics out there!
The listing also notes that a “portion of the proceeds will benefit the Buffalo Bills Foundation.” So that’s nice.
Any Bills fans out there hoping to acquire the item better be ready to open up their wallets. The current bid as of Thursday afternoon stands at a whopping $4,250. The auction closes late Thursday afternoon.
“This is a business,” McDermott said last week of his decision to remove the items, via Pro Football Talk. “We talk about, and you’ve heard me say this before, earning the right to win.
“… I don’t believe that playing video games in the locker room is part of earning the right to win. We’re going to be a focused, disciplined and accountable football team and I believe you do it one day at a time.”
One has to wonder, though, what McDermott has planned for all the area left empty due to the removal of all that fun stuff. Perhaps some comfy study kiosks or something. On the other hand, given his no-nonsense approach, McDermott probably will just set up some uncomfortable metal picnic tables or something.
