Syracuse fan drains $5K half-court shot, high-fives Dino Babers (vid)
A Syracuse fan walked out of Madison Square Garden $5,000 richer after draining a half-court shot during the team’s game on Monday night against UConn.
If things couldn’t get any cooler for the fan, he also received a hug from mascot Otto the Orange and a high-five from Syracuse head football coach Dino Babers.
And the crowd goes wild.

It’s a raucous scene that plays out from time to time at basketball games at both the collegiate and professional level. But it never gets old.
Heck, even ESPN’s Jay Bilas cracked a joke about the impressive shot. In light of the shooting woes of both the Orange and the Huskies, Bilas quipped, “We have had, what, 32 minutes of game action, and we’ve got to bring somebody out of the stands to nail a shot.”
All joking aside, Syracuse’s fortunes weren’t as favorable as their half-court-shot-making fan, going down by a score of 52-50 to fall to 5-3 on the young season.
