Hockey ref drilled in genitals with beer can by brother of player (vid)
A hockey referee officiating a game in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last week was on the receiving end of a nearly full can of beer straight to his genitals thrown from the stands by the upset brother of a player he just sent to the penalty box.
Dominic Bedard was officiating a game between the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada on Feb. 11 when he sent the Huskies’ Francis Perron to the sin bin on a roughing penalty.
This apparent affront to his younger sibling greatly upset his 29-year-old brother Alexandre, so much so that he impulsively chucked a nearly full can of beer in Bedard’s direction. And his aim was true — presumably — because said beer can drilled the referee straight in the genitals (via Puck Daddy):
The Le Journal De Montreal reports that the elder Perron was ejected from the arena and later arrested. He could possibly face assault charges, something that will be determined when he appears before a judge on May 10.
For what it’s worth, Perron’s father says Alexandre “regrets” throwing a nearly full beer can onto the ice and drilling a referee straight in the crotch with it. While that’s all well and good, it certainly doesn’t take away the pain and suffering of poor old Bedard, that’s for sure.
