Ronda Rousey is slowly building a formidable global brand for herself outside of the world of MMA. Could playing a formidable superhero be the next step in her quest for world domination?

A top executive in the comics-inspired, movie-making industry believes anything’s possible.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said he could back the concept of Rousey playing Captain Marvel, a movement initiated by the UFC women’s bantamweight champion herself last month when she shared on Instagram fan art of herself depicted as the superhero.

“I love it,” Fiege told IGN during a promotional event. “That happens occasionally, and I think that’s a testament more to the strength of the characters.”

Rousey already has made serious inroads into Hollywood, making appearances in “The Expendables 3” and “Fast & Furious 7,” as well as a cameo in “Entourage.” She currently has a role in a film starring Mark Wahlberg and also is slated to portray herself in a biopic based upon her autobiography.

She also is believed to assume Patrick Swayze’s legendary leading role in an upcoming reboot of “Road House.”

Rousey obviously could handle the role from a physical standpoint, when asked if Rousey has the acting chops to play Captain Marvel, Fiege wouldn’t rule it out.

“You look at the ways we’ve cast our films in the past and it’s always about who’s the best person to inhabit the character, whether that is an actor like Chris Hemsworth who bulks up, or a wrestler like Dave Bautista who played Drax who ends up being an amazing performer, an amazing actor and a clever and witty and pointed comedic actor,” he said. “For us, it’s sitting down with people and starting to meet people and as the script takes shape and as we start to build who the character should be and finding the right person to match it up. We haven’t necessarily started sitting down with people yet and meeting on that part.”

One thing is for certain: It would be interesting.
