Caroline Wozniacki: Making Swimsuit Issue ‘always been a dream of mine’ (pics)
Caroline Wozniacki is one of a handful of professional athletes who grace the pages of this year’s edition of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. The 24-year-old tennis superstar spoke with USA TODAY Sports Monday and said that is has long been a dream of hers to make it into one of the annual issues.
In fact, Wozniacki says that she volunteered to appear in the Swimsuit Issue during a meeting last year with Sports Illustrated.
“It’s always been a dream of mine [to be in the Swimsuit Issue],” Wozniacki said at the “Swim City” pop-up in Manhattan’s Herald Square, via For the Win. “I went to the offices of Sports Illustrated quite a few months ago and threw myself out there. ‘If you need a model or want one, I’m here.’ It must have made a pretty good impression.”
The shoot, which occurred last fall on Florida’s Gulf Coast, credits photographer Walter Iooss Jr. for making it such an enjoyable experience.
“Walter, the photographer, was unbelievable. He was so quick,” she said. “I changed into a new swimsuit really quickly and did 12 different suits. I loved every minute of it.”
Wozniacki took to social media to share some of the pics from her shoot.
