Tiger Woods almost snapping club a microcosm of his awful second round (video)
Tiger Woods needed a birdie on 18 to get help get his two-day score to 2-over after carding a horrendous 77 in his nightmare second round at the British Open on Friday.
The fact that he’s barely inside the cut line and will be allowed to finish off the weekend playing in the major is where any semblance of good news ends for Woods. He sits a whopping 14 shots behind Rory McIlroy, who holds a four-shot lead over Dustin Johnson heading into the weekend.
In light of his brilliantly flawless performance on Friday, McIlroy has looks of a golfer who no intention nor inclination of allowing someone as far back as Tiger back into the tournament, much less those players who are simply trying to hold on and stay in contention.
If one visual accurately summarizes Tiger’s hellish day on the links of Royal Liverpool, it would be his demeanor has he carded a triple-bogey on the 17th hole (via SB Nation).
Yowsers. You just know Tiger so wanted to snap that club like a toothpick. At least he showed some restraint.
But still, not pretty. Not pretty at all.
