Kate Upton throws support behind Justin Upton in All-Star Game #FinalVote (pics)
Since her beau, Detroit Tigers pitcher — and casual cleavage-ogler — Justin Verlander, won’t be at Target Field as a member of the American League roster for the 2014 MLB All-Star Game and will have plenty of time to hang out with her during his midseason break, Kate Upton has turned her attention to another big leaguer and his quest to be part of a game that was once heralded as the “Midseason Classic.”
That’s right, the gorgeous supermodel took to Twitter to stump for a player who is near and dear to her heart: Atlanta Braves outfielder Justin Upton.
The Upton in this story who fills out a bikini better than the other once posed alongside Justin and his brother B.J. for a Sports Illustrated “MLB Playoff Preview” edition before the 2013 postseason.
Upton made the pitch to her sizable Twitter follower population that the player for whom they should vote for is Upton. The Braves outfielder is in a neck-in-neck race with Casey McGehee, Justin Morneau, Anthony Rendon and Anthony Rizzo to secure the final National League roster spot as part of the MLB’s “Final Vote” competition.

As you can see, Upton hopes voters will do her a favor and “#keepitinthefamily.” Makes sense, but I know what you’re thinking here: This is nothing more than a mega-celebrity abusing the social media influence in an example of shameless nepotism.
Believe it or not, not only are Kate and Justin not sister and brother, they are not even related! Shocking, I know.
And just to prove that Upton is more than a baseball groupie with questionable familial relations with a pair of big league siblings, she once took part in one of those celebrity softball games that has become an annual part of All-Star Game festivities back in 2011.
Girl can ball, what can I say?
