Kevin Durant somehow drains miraculous three-pointer while being fouled (video)
This just in: Kevin Durant is a good basketball player. Durant led all scorers in Game 2 of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Game 2 showdown with the Memphis Grizzlies, but an unbelievable play late in the game truly demonstrated why Durant is one of most dangerous offensive forces in the game.
With the Thunder down 98-93, Russell Westbrook somehow managed to get the ball to KD in the corner on a broken play. With about 14 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Durant, as he twisted to square up to the rim, was bumped by Marc Gasol, heaved up a prayer from beyond the arc as he was knocked backward. Somehow, Durant’s desperation three-pointer went in, giving Durant the opportunity to convert the rare four-point play.
The Thunder did manage to get the game to overtime, but ultimately lost to the Grizzlies 111-105 in a thriller which sets the series at one game apiece. But without Kevin Durant’s late-game heroics, chances are the team wouldn’t have had a shot to steal the game in the first place.
