Woman seated courtside holds ball hostage, takes photo of Blake Griffin (video)
A woman seated courtside at Staples Center during Monday’s tilt between the Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks took advantage of the good fortune of the game ball landing in her lap to get an up-close photo of Blake Griffin.
With the second quarter winding down and the Bucks committing a turnover, Griffin attempted to nicely wrangle the ball out of the woman’s grasp, only for her to resist, pulling the ball away while simultaneously leaning back and snapping a photo of the superstar.
Not quite as great — or voluntary as when LeBron James posed for a photo and gave an elderly lady seated courtside a smooch during a game earlier this season, but an amusing scene nonetheless.
And for what it’s worth, the awkward interaction didn’t seem to have a negative effect on Griffin, nor did it have an impact on the game, as Griffin finished with 27 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, three blocks and a steal in a 106-98 win.
