Optical illusion created by kitchen ad on Indians’ outfield wall all kinds of weird (photo)

Carlos Moncrief

Well that’s, um, odd. Cleveland Indians outfielder Carlos Moncrief had some very odd and out-of-place scenery as a backstop as he chased down a fly ball during a recent Cleveland Indians spring training game at Goodyear Ballpark in Goodyear, Ariz. (wonder how they came up with the name of the stadium).

As you can plainly see above (and below), Moncrief had a helluva background while he navigated the outfield. Apparently, the Indians have sold some advertising space to a company that deals in kitchen remodeling or something, as the outfield wall was completely covered by an image of a fancy-schmancy kitchen.

Pretty neat ad, pretty disorienting and distracting backdrop.
