With the kibosh having been put on Scarlett Johansson’s seductive Super Bowl spot, we have a new leader in the clubhouse as it pertains to the always-competitive battle for the best commercial that will air during Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday.
A sequel of sorts to last year’s immensely popular and touching “Brotherhood” spot, Budweiser once again has hit the motherlode of emotional manipulation by combining a puppy and a horse and an attractive woman.
Oh, and beer.
Business Insider has the inside scoop:
The actor Don Jeanes returns to his role as the head of Warm Springs Ranch in Missouri, where the beer company raises its iconic Clydesdale horses. Actress (and former swimsuit model) Melissa Keller is introduced as the owner of a puppy adoption center next door.
A wily little Labrador Retriever manages to keep escaping to the horse farm to see his best bud, a Clydesdale.
And with that setup, magic happens. Adorable puppy-horse unbreakable friendship magic.
The spot was again produced by ad agency Anomaly and is sure to cause quite a few misty-eyed reactions and plenty of melted hearts during Sunday’s big game.
