Kate Upton poses with Jets and Giants players for shoot for Vogue’s February issue (photos)
When the Super Bowl comes along, even high fashion magazines like Vogue take notice and attempt to capitalize on the frenzy surrounding the biggest event in American professional sports. The undeniable allure of the Super Bowl prompted Vogue to combine two things that all Vogue readers love: Kate Upton and NFL football.
Okay, maybe the typical Vogue reader doesn’t like football — or like Kate Upton that much either (jealousy issues and whatnot) — but that hasn’t stopped the fashion mag from pairing the two together for a photo shoot that will appear in its February issue, perfectly coinciding with Super Bowl XLVIII on Feb. 2.
And given that the Super Bowl will be put on in New York (the Fashion Mecca of the U.S.) this year at MetLife Stadium — actually, New Jersey, but the Garden State gets dissed again — Vogue must have believed it made sense to incorporate the region’s NFL teams — the Jets and Giants — into the shoot.
Great photos. While Kate Upton posing alongside NFL stars the likes of Victor Cruz, Prince Amukamara and D’Brickashaw Ferguson makes some semblance of sense, the photograph of her chilling with Jets exec Woody Johnson, President and Chief Executive Officer of the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Company Al Kelly and co-owner of the Giants, Jonathan Tisch, looks a lot more like a photo that could be found in a high school yearbook with the title, “When the captain of the cheerleading squad got lost and ended up in the AV Club Room.”
