Bad Idea Ink: Seahawks fan got a Super Bowl XLVIII champs tattoo before season (pic)
If he ends up being right in his tattooed prognostication, he will look like a genius, a man whose courageous prescience for predicting the outcome of an entire NFL season has no match. If, on the other hand, the best-inked plans of Tim Connors, a die-hard Seattle Seahawks fan, go awry? Well, odds are he’ll be dropping some dough to get either a removal or a drastic alteration to the tattoo he got done before the season that boasts the Seahawks will win Super Bowl XLVIII.
Connors made the bold decision to get a tattoo on the inside of his right forearm that indicates the Seahawks will be Super Bowl champions once all is said and done. But guess what? Despite the boldness of the ink, Connors insists he’s not off his rocker.
“I’m not crazy. I’m not crazy at all,” he said.
According to a KomoNews.com report, Connors says most Seahawks fans who have seen his tattoo — he claims 95% — like the tattoo and apparently are not worried about the possible jinxing qualities of the ink.
Among the 5% who expressed some reservations was the guy who did the tattoo, artist Lonnie Moon of Good Karma Body Art in Edmonds, Wash.
“I said, ‘hey man, people are going to attack you… that you’re the jinx of the team,’ ” Moon said. And when Connors convinced him to go through with it, Moon answered: “He’s right, you know what, you think like that, you’re not a real fan.”
No matter what anyone thinks, Connors stands by his decision as his beloved Seahwawks prepare for an NFC Championship Game showdown with the hated San Francisco 49ers.
“There’s no tiny little bit of doubt at all,” he insisted. “Anywhere in my head.”
But it’s not what’s in his head that’s the cause for concern. It’s what’s on his forearm?
