Gisele Bundchen plays the role of supportive wife when Tom Brady watches football
It’s hard to believe it, but Gisele Bündchen appears to be an even more awesome wife than originally believed. Of course, the supermodel wife of Tom Brady obviously is drop-dead gorgeous, supremely wealthy in her own right and by all accounts is a devoted, doting and loving mother to the New England Patriots quarterback’s children, she also appears to understand that most men, including her husband, have almost a pathological need to watch football.
Saying that Brady is “very focused” right now on the task at hand — which is beating the Denver Broncos on the road to secure yet another Super Bowl berth — Gisele adds that the two are very devoted to creating a comfortable environment for one another, especially on those days when things aren’t going so well.
“We are both very supportive of one another in what we do. … Of course nobody likes to lose,” said Bündchen. “Those aren’t the best days. He knows he does his best. He works extremely hard.”
Bündchen insists that win or lose, family comes first to both her and her husband. Brady has a 6-year-old son, John, from a previous relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan, Brady and Bündchen added two more, 4-year-old son Ben and 1-year-old daughter Vivian.
And Brady of course plays the role of doting father.
“He’s very loving and it’s a wonderful thing. In our house we are very affectionate,” she said. “I think it’s very important for the boys to know that it’s OK to hug and to kiss and you’re not less than a man.”
It’s possible that Brady’s teammates may choose to have some fun with that quote. Then again, none of his teammates give him high-fives anyway, not to mention he gets himself in trouble on his own with some awkward quotes. Need I remind you how Brady responded when asked what his guilty pleasure was by a women’s magazine: “A frozen margarita. Oh my God.” Great googly moogly.
Despite Bündchen’s feelings regarding the topic of what does and does not make a man, she nevertheless understands that men are men, and she makes it very easy for her husband to kick back and enjoy football should he feel the need to zone out on some gridiron action on the television.
“At night if my husband is watching TV and watching football, I have my little book and I put something in my ears so I don’t hear it and I put my light (on) and have my book and I’m like, ‘Ohhh.’ He’s feeding his soul and that’s important to him to watch football. I only want to watch if I’m watching him,” she joked, according to an AP report (via the Pioneer Press).
This just in: Gisele Bündchen is a spectacular wife. She should teach seminars or something.
We’ve had a lot of fun over the years having fun with some of the goings-on in Tom Brady’s private life with his wife and children, but let’s be honest: The guy has it made and it seems like he really is living in a state of total domestic bliss. With his supermodel wife. Who is awesome and lets him watch football when he wants. Yeah.
