Jason Dufner makes interesting request of Tiger Woods on Twitter, Tiger replies
Jason Dufner has a conflict of interest of sorts coming up this Saturday between his professional life as golfer and his loyalty to his favorite college football team.
Dufner is scheduled to play in Tiger Woods’ Northwestern Mutual World Challenge Golf Tournament this weekend at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Unfortunately for Dufner, the Auburn Tigers football squad, in light of its thrilling win over the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, will be playing Missouri in the SEC title game on Saturday.
Dufner is an Auburn alum who graduated from the university in 2010 with a degree in economics — as well as playing on its golf team after securing a spot on the squad as a walk-on (yes, a walk-on) — would love nothing better than to root on his alma mater in such a monumental game, so he petitioned Tiger on Twitter, jokingly asking Woods if he would be willing to reschedule the tournament to accommodate Dufner’s desire to watch the game.
Surprisingly, Tiger, who seems to be quite chummy with Dufner — both on and off the course (this quasi-Men’s Wearhouse ad featuring himself, Dufner and Phil Mickelson is the absolute tops) — actually replied to Dufner’s request. And yep, he declined.
@JasonDufner Petition denied.

Hey, it never hurts to ask, right?
