Daniel Sedin takes high stick to the face, calmly extracts tooth loosened by hit (video)
Vancouver Canucks superstar Daniel Sedin — and his twin brother Henrik — generally are not considered tough guys by NHL standards. But simply being a hockey player requires a certain level of manliness that is unparallelled in pro sports.
Exhibit A: During the second period of Monday’s tilt against the Los Angeles Kings, Sedin was on the receiving end of a high stick straight to the face courtesy of Kings defenseman Jake Muzzin.
Sedin, as Muzzin was being assessed a two-minute penalty, calmly and without any display of discomfort, quickly extracted the tooth loosened by the high stick. That’s a hockey player, kids.
Daniel Sedin, sans one tooth, did contribute an assist on brother Henrik’s goal during the third period of the team’s 3-2 overtime loss.
