In about the most adorable thing ever, Diesel, the canine mascot for the Northern Illinois Huskies, high-fived a member of the team’s cheerleading squad — or someone standing nearby the squad — after the No. 20-ranked squad scored a touchdown en route to a 48-27 victory over the Ball State Cardinals on Wednesday night.
With the huge win in front of its fans at Huskie Stadium in Dekalb, Ill., the Huskies remained a perfect 10-0, as Northern Illinois continued to state its case for a BCS bowl game berth.
Putting an exclamation point on the night, though, was how Diesel engaged in some very human-like celebrating.
Now that’s awesome. And an adorable mascot to boot. You’d liklely never see Pierre, the New Orleans Pelicans freaky-deaky mascot, pull off an adorable move like this. Nor would you want to.
