This portrait Erik Spoelstra received in the Bahamas is all kinds of weird (pic)
The Miami Heat are spending the team’s training camp down in the Bahamas. Tough gig, I know.
While there, head coach Erik Spoelstra was the lucky recipient of a portrait that featured himself, team president Pat Riley and owner Micky Arison, all lined up in a row.
The quality of the portrait — done by a Bahamian artist — is more than acceptable, it’s just that it is kind of … strange.
For instance, what is Spoelstra supposed to do with it? Hang it proudly in his living room? Doing so would rise to the level of Alex Rodriguez’s narcissism, only Spoelstra isn’t depicted as a centaur in this particular piece of artwork.
I suppose it could be hung somewhere at Heat team headquarters. Although it may give team employees the feeling that they are being watched all the time. Creepy.
