Fresno State Bulldogs offensive lineman scores best Fat Guy Touchdown ever (video)
During last Saturday’s 41-25 win over Cal Poly Mustangs, Fresno State Bulldogs offensive lineman Austin Wentworth may have scored what could possibly be the greatest “Fat Guy Touchdown” in the history of fat guy touchdowns.
After quarterback Derrick Carr took a red zone snap and complete an out route to wide receiver Davante Adams, Wentworth, seemingly appearing to be pulling in order to block downfield, became the ballhandler after being on the receiving end of a well-designed hook-and-ladder.
Catching the ball in stride expertly, the 6-foot-5, 306-pound senior nimbly ambled into the end zone before being mobbed by his teammates.
Now that, my friends, has to be the best “Fat Guy Touchdown” ever. Sure, there may have been longer runs, but for an offensive lineman to be involved in a play that involved gimmickry (well, more than the average Fat Guy Touchdown) and that level of trickery? That puts this one over the top. And gave something this young man will never forget.
