Michigan St. student pulls off the old ‘Living Mannequin in Football Uniform’ trick (vid)
What? You’ve never seen that one before? If you haven’t, you really need to get out more. Garret Briningstool, a Michigan State student, recently pretended that he was a mannequin dressed in a Michigan State Spartans football uniform. Setting up his trap in the school’s football complex and standing as still as could be, Briningstool would jump out at unsuspecting victims to scare the living bejeezus out of them, including head coach Mike Dantonio — the first person the living mannequin frightens in the video —who said, “I thought I jumped out of my skin.”
Well played, Mr. Briningstool. You could say that Briningstool nearly had folks “losingstool,” if you catch my drift.
Only one complaint: What’s up with Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” — if that’s what it is (I think it is but I’m not hip and happening) — as the backing soundtrack? Granted, it’s a catchy tune and a big hit, but anyone who knows anything about pranks involving mannequins — real ones or fake, live ones — would instantly recognize that the only appropriate tune would have been Starship’s “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Know.” Duh.
And yes, I did go with a reference to the movie “Mannequin.” How couldn’t I?
