Has the legendary run of renowned lady killer Derek Jeter come to an abrupt end? If a photo taken of the New York Yankees captain escorting his girlfriend, model Hannah Davis, during an outing in New York is any indication, the answer may be … maybe.
Jeter, 39, and Davis, 23, were spotted exiting a Manhattan Starbucks in on Wednesday, and it was difficult not to notice that the gorgeous supermodel was sporting a rather interesting accessory: A very large diamond ring on her left hand’s index finger.
Could it be? Could it be over? Are the days of Jeter reveling in the carefree joys of bachelorhood coming to an end? Say it ain’t so.
Not surprisingly, no engagement has been announced, nor should such an announcement be expected. Jeter and Davis have never officially acknowledged that they are dating, although the two seemingly have been together since last summer.
Sometimes eferred to as “The Next Kate Upton”, Davis is best known for her appearance in the 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and well as her role as the “DirecTV Genie” in television commercials.
A rep for Jeter had no comment whatsoever for New York Daily News’ gossip column “Confidenti@l,” and a Davis spokesman only said, “We don’t comment on our clients’ personal lives.”
In any event, the ring apparently is the real deal. A Diamond District jewelry expert told “Confidenti@l” that it is most certainly an engagement ring and characterized it as “elegant.”
With Jeter nearing the end off his illustrious career on the field — well, he’s a lot close to the end than even the middle, that’s for sure — perhaps he is ready to slow down, stop playing the field as he prepares for his life off the field. That’s a lot of fields. But considering it’s Jeter, who has been romantically linked to Mariah Carey, Jessica Alba, former Miss Universe Lara Dutta, Vanessa Minnillo (before Nick Lachey), Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, Gabrielle Union, and most recently, before Davis, Minka Kelly, the fields have been well-played, indeed. Talk about an All-Star lineup.
Finally, a gallery of the possibly soon-to-be Mrs. Derek Jeter (although until the “I dos” are uttered, nothing is set in stone).
