During Tuesday evening’s tilt between the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, a fan made a nice catch of a foul ball off the bat of Rockies center fielder Dexter Fowler by utilizing the only receptacle he had available: His beer cup.

Via MLB.com:

Nice sudsy souvenir, sir. The only appropriate thing to do here is to defer to the Padres broadcasting tandem of Dick Enberg and Mark Grant for the requisite pun-tastic wordplay. Here’s Grant’s take on the beer cup catch: “No bad hops in that one!” Uh, zing? At least Enberg was there to back up his partner with, “Ohhh, yeah, I can see where you coming from.” What a team. Granted, not as inappropriately hilarious as when Grant and Enberg discussed crushing Dodger Dogs while admiring two comely lasses wearing Dodger Dog hats, but it will do.

But here’s one question: Why didn’t the guy slam the beer afterward with the ball still in the cup like this guy did? That’s just “pour” form if you ask me.

Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.
