Matt Every has a Tim Tebow-No. 5-Patriots emblem adorning his golf bag (photo)
Matt Every shot a one-over 71 on Thursday in the first round of the PGA Championship at Oak Hill on Thursday and at the time of the publishing of this post, is through six holes of his second round and sits at +3. Can you imagine what his score would be if he didn’t have a New England Patriots logo along with “Tebow No. 5” emblazoned on his golf bag? Lord only knows.
Every, like Tim Tebow, is a University of Florida alum, playing golf for the school from 2003-2006, where he received All-American honors all four years.
Tebow’s first year at Florida was 2006, so perhaps these two saw each other in the gym or attended the same prayer group meetings. Who knows?
What is known, however, is that while there may be many Tim Tebow fans among the competitors at the PGA Championship, Every is the only golfer who wears his Tim Tebow fandom on his sleeve. Or his golf bag, to put it more accurately.
