DeMar DeRozan’s birthday cake has Eazy-E Compton hat, Jordan shoe (pic)
Toronto Raptors forward DeMar DeRozan, who has one of the coolest names in the NBA, celebrated his 24th birthday on Wednesday. And in what seems to be a growing — and welcome (have you seen Adam Jones’ Popeyes chicken cake?) — trend among professional athletes, DeRozan’s birthday celebratory festivities included a custom-made birthday cake.
Featuring the Raptors logo and DeRozan’s jersey, an Air Jordan shoe and to top it all off (literally), the patented Compton hat worn by West Coast rap game legend, Eazy-E, who probably would have been a big fan of the Toronto Raptors if he hadn’t tragically died the same year the team officially began play as an expansion NBA franchise. Yeah.
So, pour out some of an O.E. 40-ouncer in honor of Eazy, put in “Eazy-Duz-It” and marvel at the grandeur that is DeMar DeRozan’s magnificent, custom birthday cake, as “Easily I approach the microphone because I ain’t no joke…”
Sorry, couldn’t help myself. Although the reference to Eazy’s classic “Still Talkin'” makes me wonder: What would Eazy have rhymed “DeRozan” with? Marzipan, maybe? Huh.
