Adam Wainwright, Matt Holliday do their best Hans and Franz impressions (video)

During Thursday’s game, St. Louis Cardinals teammates Matt Holliday and Adam Wainwright partook in some dugout hijinks following a congratulatory handshake between the two that apparently was a bit too strong. At least for Wainwright.

Following the overenthusiastic meeting of the hands, Wainwright jokingly begins to shake his arm, acting as if he is in pain. This leads to the Cardinals pitcher and Holliday engaging in an amusing display of flexing that went on far longer than one would expect.

They’re here to pump (clap) you up!

One thing that’s certain: It was a better performance by Holliday than the botch-job he pulled when he tried to haul back an Andrew McCutchen home run the other night.

And yet, all kidding aside, Holliday better be careful. Wainwright is a right-handed pitcher for Pete’s sake. Stranger injuries have occurred to MLB players.

And just for the hell of it, here’s a “Hans and Franz” sketch from way back when:

Ha. Classic.
