Damian Lillard regrets declining fan’s photo request, meets up with him later (pic)

2012 NBA Rookie Photo Shoot

Damian Lillard had a standout rookie campaign last season after he was drafted sixth overall by the Portland Trail Blazers. So good, in fact, that point guard was voted unanimously as the NBA Rookie of the Year and is the current record-holder for most three-pointers made by a rookie with 185.

Despite the sudden and impressive ascension to NBA playmaker, Lillard appears to have remained grounded. Well, perhaps not all of the time, but recently, his conscience got the better of him after he turned down a photo request from a Trail Blazers fan while out doing some shopping.

After realizing that his treatment of Trail Blazers fan Siros Aredestani may have come off as a bit standoffish and maybe even rude, Lillard took to Twitter to express his regrets:

Aredestani replied to Lillard’s tweet and the exchange between the two that followed ultimately resulted in a happy ending for all parties involved.

Lillard then sent a direct message to the young man and instructed Ardestani to meet up with him later at a mall.

Finally, in the end, the two did meet up and Ardestani got that photo with one of his favorite NBA players.

Awesome. And bravo. Well played, Mr. Damian Lillard. Well played indeed.
